The Province
of East Anglia

The Masonic Order of Athelstan reflects and recognises how early reference to the importance of Masonry in English history was significant for the development of speculative Freemasonry.

ABOUT THE ORDER

The Masonic Order of Athelstan is based on the historic records of the life and the legend of King Athelstan, the first king of all the English — 924 to 939 AD

The focus of the Order is to show how early reference to the importance of Masonry in English history was significant for the development of speculative Freemasonry, and our aim is to encourage and prompt members into further study and research.

THE Province of East Anglia

The Order was founded in Newmarket in 2005. In England and Wales, the Order is structured so that its Provinces, wherever possible, reflect and represent the ancient kingdoms of the Anglo-Saxon period. As a result, Provincial boundaries do not correspond directly with modern English county divisions.

The Athelstan Province of East Anglia comprises Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Northamptonshire, Norfolk and Suffolk.
